Based on the 1993 non-fiction publication Howard Hughes: The Secret Life by Charles Higham, the film depicts the life of Howard Hughes, an aeronautics leader and supervisor of the film Hell's Angels The movie portrays his life from 1927 to 1947 during which time Hughes became a successful movie producer and an aviation magnate while simultaneously growing extra unstable due to severe obsessive-compulsive condition (OCD).

Ironically, as far as this customer is concerned one of the most mixing, most remarkable minute in Martin Scorsese and John Logan's The aviator mastercard annual fee isn't the (unquestionably impressive) airborne battle at the beginning of the film, or the airplane collision later on, or any of the interpersonal goings-on.

Besides, Hughes is hardly averse in jeopardy his life in other methods, ending up being a record-smashing flying ace and later on obtaining TWA off the ground a lot to the dismay of competing Juan Trippe (Alec Baldwin), the head of Frying pan Am. Appearing at 169 mins, The Pilot attempts to remain aloft, but like Howard Hughes' much-too-heavy and much-too-big Spruce Goose (a.k.a. The Hercules), this motion picture jumbo can keep itself in the air just a couple of minutes at once.
