How To Explain Item Upgrades To Your Mom
Path of Exile item upgrading Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading them. They can be a fantastic source of extra damage, more AD or even more affixes.
Sometimes, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade equipment due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be applied to weapons and armor items. They boost the effectiveness of the Item upgrader kit they are connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of games and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components in them using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. A piece of armor upgraded to maximum upgrade level will increase its ability to absorb damage. But, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, which will cause it to be heavier than before.
There are a variety of armor upgrades available in the game. Each has a different effect. Certain upgrades give armor an extra amount of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees to use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are updated daily or never expire based on the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the environment and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more costly, but can be found in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in performance and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade items level will increase its defense values. However, it will also reduce its agility and its speed. For this reason, it is typically not recommended to upgrade armor pieces beyond +9, since the defensive boost gained is typically not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades needed.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Some weapons also have special upgrades that enhance their inherent qualities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).
The majority of weapon upgrades require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be gained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price of a set number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be lower.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a certain amount of Bars. You could continue doing this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for your equipment or weapon, after which the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to the stores and buying equipment with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These items have a greater chance of giving you the highest tier blessings and perks.
To level up quicker, players usually prioritise upgrading their weapons. In addition players, they should think about upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to make them more powerful as well. Shepard for instance should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are utilized in the sockets of armor and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. They can be made through an process known as jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and various ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the level of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents are obtained in the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can boost the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Based on the tier of the jewel, it will provide a different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
All tiers of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a sufficient level to be able to get them. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without damaging the original. However it is only possible to replace the jewels in a piece of equipment once.
Utilizing more jewels in a movement will make it feel smoother, and is often performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. Apart from improving performance, the jewels also create an area that is stronger than steel, so the repeated friction from pivots won't damage them as easily.
A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the look of your shields and weapons. These are a small perk and can be swapped freely however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as traits or aegis can't be swapped, and can only be recovered with an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that offer many tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. They can be obtained in the beginning areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through performing road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player will unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but valuable boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player will then be able to acquire necklaces, amulets, and rings, in a similar way to how they acquired weapons and armor. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be used in any type of equipment, while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with certain kinds of trinkets.
These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This lets a hero be more efficient when they are not active. It can also make up for the absence of excellent slots in the team or talent tree that are normally filled by the hero's Best item upgrade stats.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrade-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing soon, followed by items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item level upgrade being upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats you wish to upgrade, as it's often better to upgrade a single crucial stat than two subpar ones.
At the beginning of the game players who are in the jungle will typically want to upgrade their trinket to a red, while top and middle players will usually opt for the pink or green ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.
In addition to the items listed above, players will find other trinkets in the form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, such as finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. You can see them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
