Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. They can be used to add an additional benefit or impact while the equipment in use. They can be purchased from vendors or players, scavenged or gotten as rewards, or made with crafting materials. In addition to providing bonus points, upgrade items can also have cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components include inscriptions, enhancements and infusions. They aren't generally accessible to the general public and are only available on ascended equipment, or certain non-ascended weaponry from the Factions Campaign. Infusions can be recovered, inscriptions and enrichments from your equipment using an Extractor Device or by salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Unlike other upgrade items Phoenix Boxes, unlike other upgrade items, can be traded while still connected to the item they are upgrading, and can be re-used after being salvaged. These upgrade items are the Best item upgrade method to increase the quality of your weapon and armor quality without spending Dilithium, as they can increase the item upgrader's chance of receiving a quality upgrade by two times.
An upgrade component within an item can be replaced with another but it is not able to replace the original one (except for upgrades to legendaries and equipment that has been ascended). Only upgraded items that have an identification level of 0 or higher can have upgrade components added to them. If you add an upgrade to a weapon already equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade, the item will be named in the same way as it appears on the game screen (for instance, adding the Radiant insignia to Canthan Armor makes it Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). A player can only own three upgrade items at one time.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a useful addition to any item, as they can provide a variety of unique advantages and boosts. Some Glyphs increase the number of affixes that an item has, which increases its power. These glyphs are obtained by the completion of the dungeons. They can also be found in specific World Tier 3 zones. It is important to keep in mind that glyphs are not available on a character that has not created an area of root dungeons of the same size.
In order to use a Glyph first, you need to build it from components and connect them using anchors. The component will then automatically align itself to other components or paths within the same layer. If you don't wish to create the glyph using components, you can use a combination of paths and anchors. Drag an element near an element highlighted to lock it in place.
Certain glyphs have requirements to fulfill, for example having a minimum of 25 Dexterity in a specific region on the Paragon Board. Some require a specific number of Primary Stat nodes to be activated and can be a challenge to attain. Certain glyphs have a radius that increases with each level.
Glyphs are available for many different items and can be added to all weapons, with the exception for weapons belonging to specific classes. Some of these glyphs have additional conditions, such as a certain amount of damage to Dexterity or Attack damage for a specific part of the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph increases the probability of preventing enemy attacks by 5%. It also has a chance of 15%, making the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
Some glyphs can also be used on limited use tools, like the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. These glyphs contribute to the Combat Mechanic Achievement.
The most common glyphs are the attack glyphs which increase the ATK substats of Artifacts by a flat value. They are especially beneficial for classes that are ranged such as Warriors and Rogues. The Exploit Glyph can make enemies who hit the Hero vulnerable to damaging effects.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used for rerolling results that are rolled during an Action. When the reroll happens they are discarded. Reroll tokens are accessible in many ways, such as through raids and dungeons or by participating in skirmishes. They can also be bought in the store or from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons or trials since they allow players to roll the rewards from the chest at the end.
The values for recycling points are provided for items at the level 1. The upgrade gauge will grow by a certain number of points each time you recycle an item. This value scales according to the item's level and rarity. The upgraded item will not be able to keep its level when rerolled and the cost to recycle an upgraded item rises as its level increases.
It is also possible to use reroll tokens to roll an item. However it won't bring back the item's original stats or level. This is a great option for those who want to reroll an item or piece of equipment that they don't like but want to keep in their collection.
There are three different types of upgrade tokens that are available in the game: reroll, random and upgrade. Each type comes with a couple of subtypes. For instance, reroll tokens are available in three levels: enhanced, rare and legendary. Each requires an item from the level of its respective to make an item of the same quality.
To make use of reroll tokens click on the Satanic or Angelic item upgrader mod in inventory and select "Reroll Token". Select a type of token. The available tokens include Item Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns, and Focus. The Item token can be used to create a brand new Item in any quality. A Weapon or Misc token produces a new weapon belonging to the same faction.
The item could also be upgraded to a new item that has the same stats but is at a higher level. This could happen if the item is in the Non-droppable Pool or has been transferred to it as part of a Franchise Card.
