Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time without the need to switch devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time with a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will reveal exactly what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean around the objects without stumbling.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin auto-refilling.

The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It comes with a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. It also allows the robot to reach under furniture with a low profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through excessive back-and forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or individually. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect the moment when the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available, but it packs in many additional features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
